At 10 am on January 11, with the Overseas Business Division of Anji Logistics as the carrier, the “Duisburg-Yiwu” CR Express train with 16 standard containers of SAIC VOLKSWAGEN engine block from Duisburg, Germany successfully arrived at the Yiwu railway port. This is the first time that SAIC VOLKSWAGEN and Anji Logistics ship components imported from Europe through CR Express. A brief and warm train-receiving ceremony was held, which was attended by relevant leaders of SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, Anji Logistics, and Yiwu Land Port Bureau.
CR Express transportation is an important measure of China to promote the construction of “One Belt One Road.” In order to respond to this national call, last July Anji Logistics has taken the lead to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with China Railway on the level of its parent company SAIC MOTOR, and determined CR Express as one of the directions of service.
ThisCR Express train started on December 18, 2017 at Duisburg, entered China through Alataw Pass after traveling over 13000 km through Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan for over 20 days with twice reloading, and finally arrived at Yiwu West Station. Since receiving client’s urgent shipping demand on December 8, the Overseas Business Division of Anji Logistics, with collective wisdom and efforts, took charge in the whole process of “door-to-door” transportation from factory pick-up, railway transportation, customs clearance, and delivery to domestic warehouse of Volkswagen.
The Alataw Pass of Xinjiang is one of the 5 transit ports of CR Express train, and the only national first-class port in the west integrating railway, highway, and pipelinetransportation. With a lot of trains, this is easily jammed. Besides, shutdown is also frequent as the result of strong wind. Plus the heavy snow in Europe and f Christmas & New Year vocation, a series of issues ensue, such as truck shortage and limited shipping space. Anji Logistics encountered various difficulties with its cooperation partners, and eventually completed the transportation task safely.
By November 2017, the number of CR Express trains has exceeded 6000, and the number of cities with CR Express has reached 28. This time Anji Logistics joined hands with CR Express to blow the new horn of One Belt One Road!
